It's officially chilly! It makes me want to eat soup every day :) I can no longer get away with being barefoot, my preferred foot attire. And I can't help but remember back to a year ago at this time, when the pregnancy sickness was really starting to hit hard...such an exciting time, yet also so challenging. I am SO looking forward to enjoying the holidays this year!!
Drew and I are really looking forward to this winter with Jonas! He is absolutely a blast right now. At about 4.5 months old, he is rolling over, smiling and laughing, and just so much fun. We are incredibly thankful for all the ways in which God has blessed us! Jonas is not yet sleeping through the night (still waking up every 3-4 hours) but we're slowly working on starting some rice cereal. Some days, I can sneak in a nap, which helps :) We took a cute video of him giggling last night, so I'll be sure to post it soon...
On a personal note, God has really been working on my mommy-heart, in ways which I didn't expect. Near the end of my pregnancy I started dealing with some fear and worry that was completely new to me...mostly about our safety and Jonas' safety. Over the past month or so, these have multiplied exponentially, which I'm assuming is a fairly common way for moms to be attacked. It's a daily battle, but I'm pouring myself into Scripture and learning what it really means to give God complete control. I just wanted to briefly share this since I have many friends and family who read this...please pray for me if you think of it :)
We are doing well, and loving our little family. God is so good.

I have a really really good recipe for Max & Erma's chicken tortilla soup as well as a loaded potato soup. Though, you may need to do a mental discard of my blog post about the cigarette-potato soup. It really is good, as long as you don't burn it and turn it to ash. :)
The fear and worry I think is all part of being a Mommy. God is good and mighty, but I'm not sure it ever goes totally away. We will pray for you!
I talked to Stephanie today and she told me about Jonas' funny noise he makes and then laughs. Oh so cute! This is a great age.
I've had lots of other mommy's say the fear and worry is normal. I will say it was very overwhelming the first month. I'm functional with it now:) If that helps at all. Lila and I prayed for you this morning and will continue to.
I'm so glad the worrying is normal! I thought I was just going crazy. Seriously though - that is something I've prayed about daily since I've had Cash. I'm sure the worrying won't stop (seems there's always SOMETHING), but I can tell you it's lessened quite a bit.
I think it's just a reminder of what an awesome mom you are. :)
